Social Media Graphics

My work for Maimonides school has quickly and effectively taught me so many things since I started working for them in December 2023. As is the case with any school, both the internal and external communications need to be informative and succinct, and I consistently make that information more digestible (and visually appealing), all while catering to specific audiences. Below is a range of the flyers and other marketing collateral I’ve produced for the school.

In addition to creating the visual communication for a wide variety of topics/events every day, I was also charged with handling all of the school’s social media during their annual Day of Giving campaign. This required making dozens of posts, emails, and graphics while following a time table and sending out real-time updates. The 2023-24 campaign raised over $100,000 more than the previous year’s campaign, and I believe I played a vital role in making that happen.

Newsletters

I have been tasked with creating and maintaining multiple newsletters that are catered to different subsections of the schools community. This includes a weekly, internal newsletter that I am responsible for gathering the content for (both text and images), as well as three monthly newsletters that I am charged with formatting, editing, and sending on various platforms.

New Applications

As this is my first job after graduating in 2023, I have been constantly growing and learning the applications used in the ‘real world’. I have become accustomed to ConstantContact, Delivra, Meta and Slack. This is in addition to my pre-established proficiency in a range of Adobe products. I have also become very practiced at the countless uses for Canva such as banners, animations, slideshows, and even responsive graphs.

Photography and Archiving

One of my core responsibilities is the constant adding to and maintenance of the school’s vast photo gallery, both in Google Albums (which dates back to 2001) and the physical archive (which spans back to the school’s inception in 1937). I upload approximately 20 new, appropriately-tagged images per day, both for my use and for the school’s future use.

Social Media

I collaborate with the admissions, communications, and development departments and I have been charged with creating quite a gallery of social media graphics in various formats. I made a library of custom photo templates in Canva, created animations for upcoming events, and even edit and film videos of/from community members. I also livestream notable events for the school and ensure the smooth recording and flow of the video by manning the camera myself.

Graphic Design

As with every school, many more ‘serious’ designs are needed as the year goes on to ensure the school is being proactive in both their external and internal communications. I’ve created small things like postcards for events and worked all the way up to creating the school’s 2023–24 Annual Report. I pride myself on being able to make engaging, professional editorial designs, all while adding to a vast library of illustrative flyers, interactive social media posts and many other graphics that represent the school.

Merchandise

I work with the admissions department, communication department, and the PTA on a variety of physical merchandise. See my gallery of images below to see just some of what I have created, which includes custom graphics for t-shirts, sweatpants, and even bibs. (See below for a gallery of finished products).

“…I just want to say a HUGE thank you to Ceci for your tremendous, A+ work during the Day of Giving. This is never a straight forward comms campaign, and this year was especially fluid and you rode every twist and turn like a champ. You were a team player, organized, and proactive throughout the weeks leading up to the campaign and operating at the highest level for the full 36 hours (or whatever miscalculated timeline I set us up with).

Thank you and congratulations on a job very very very well done. Such a pleasure to work with you!”
